The Mark - Rev. 9:4

"They were told not to hurt the grass or plants or trees but to attack all the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads." Rev. 9:4

Prior to today, I always assumed that those with the mark were those who accept Christ during the Tribulation period. I now notice that it does not say that. It says that those marked with the seal of God on their foreheads were only the 144,000. However, we may have to make an assumption here (I hate doing that!) based on Rev. 9:4 & 20. The only people protected from attack are those with the mark, and after these attacks and plagues, "the people who did not die still refused to turn from their evil deeds." Either new converts have the mark and are protected, God is attacking his own people, or there are no new converts (other than the 144,000) as of this point in time. Because of verse 7 we know that ultimately there will be great multitudes that are saved during the Tribulation; whether or not they have a mark, the Bible is somewhat vague.

God, thank you keeping me from the time of wrath.

Today's reading: Rev. 5-9
